Northern Crater Dunes

About this image

Today's VIS image shows an unnamed crater in the northern plains of Mars. A large sand sheet covers the entire floor of the crater, and is creeping up the sides. The dunes in the crater appear different from other crater dunes on Mars due to the influence of ice within the sand.
