About this image

This VIS image is located in central Acidalia Planitia. The crater just off the edge at the bottom part of the image is Bonestell Crater. The crater towards the top of the image is unnamed. Blue tones in false color images indicated basaltic sand.

The THEMIS VIS camera contains 5 filters. The data from different filters can be combined in multiple ways to create a false color image. These false color images may reveal subtle variations of the surface not easily identified in a single band image.

Please see the THEMIS Data Citation Note for details on crediting THEMIS images.
